JOB DESCRIPTION
This scientist will perform data analysis and interpretation of data and
will work with multi-disciplinary teams to contribute original scientific
findings to projects. Will write scientific articles and present of data at
relevant national and international meetings. This position will be called
upon to lead teams and to test new compounds in drug discovery efforts. The
goal is to achieve personalized medicine with a highlight of target and drug
discovery along with a companion diagnostic and pharmacodynamic assay to
assess response, monitor progression and stratify patients based upon
biochemical profiles.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Possession of a Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university
appropriate to biomedical research. Foreign educated candidates who have
completed part or all of their education outside of the United States must
have their foreign education evaluated by an SAIC-approved accrediting
organization to assure that it has met the equivalency of the qualifications
of degree work in the United States.
In addition to education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years of
competent, innovative research in the field of biochemistry, pharmacology,
chemistry or similar discipline.
Must have in-depth knowledge and expertise in cancer target identification
and validation, cell biology with a particular focus on cancer cell growth
and regulatory mechanisms associated with cell proliferation, signaling,
apoptosis, DNA repair, as well as intermediary metabolism.
An in-depth knowledge of flow cytometry and cell sorting,
immunocytochemistry, mass spectroscopy, biochemical and biological methods,
and informatics methods for integration of varied data.
Must be an excellent team player with well-documented leadership skills.
Candidates should possess exceptional problem solving skills.
This position is subject to obtaining a Public Trust Clearance.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of traditional and novel cell surface phenotyping, multi-parameter
flow cytometric measurement of cell surface and intracellular
characteristics, and cell sorting, immunocytochemistry, mass spectroscopy,
enzyme kinetics, protein:protein interactions.
Prior industry/biotech experience is highly advantageous.
Leadership skills, excellent communication, troubleshooting and
organizational skills. |
