Senior Biometrician / Biometrician / Statistician
The Department of Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) is a
key functional group in the Merck Research Laboratories (MRL), Merck & Co,
Inc. BARDS is establishing an office in China, which will serve as the Asia
Pacific regional hub for BARDS global operations.
BARDS is recruiting for Senior Biometrician/Biometrician/Statistician (
contracting or permanent) positions in its Asia Pacific late development
statistics (BARDS LDS AP) group located in Beijing.
Responsibilities include:
Apply statistical theory and methods to the design and analysis for clinical
trials in a variety of therapeutic areas.
Prepare data analysis plans and write reports describing results of
statistical analysis.
Maintain expertise in new statistical methodologies and applications in
pharmaceutical research.
Prepare responses to regulatory agency questions regarding statistical
aspects of clinical trials.
Represent the Biostatistics Group in project team meetings and in
interaction with regulatory agencies.
Consult with research scientists, medical directors, and clinical managers
on statistical questions.
Qualification:
A degree in biostatistics or statistics, PhD or MS with a strong theoretical
background in statistics is required.
Knowledge of SAS programming for statistical analysis and data manipulation
is essential. Knowledge of other statistical analysis software is desirable
.
Knowledge and experiences in clinical trials are pluses.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
Fluency in English, verbal and written, is essential.
Good project management skills. Ability to engage key stakeholders in
clinical, regulatory, scientific programming, and database management groups
locally and internationally (e.g. US, Europe, Japan).
