POSITION DESCRIPTION
Sr._Scientis/Principal_Scientist_Molecular_Biology
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Develop effective microbial host/vector systems using recombinant
DNA technology, including:
identification of expression limiting steps, protein secretion (i.e.
periplasmic or extracellular expression), posttranslational issues,
physiological manipulation of host strains, in-vivo protein misfolding (
inclusion body expression), fusion-protein technology, molecular
manipulation of proteins, pathway knockouts, pathway constructions.
• Analyze data from experiments, write summaries, and prepare
presentations.
• Manage projects in a diverse team environment.
•Furthermore, you will be expected to lead the implementation of new
technologies within protein and peptide expression as needed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Work Experience & Abilities Required
• Strong experience in at least one of the following areas: metabolic
engineering, protein engineering, protein expression with unnatural amino
acids, genetic manipulation of bacteria, enzyme evolution.
• Must have experience in either protein expression in microorganisms
(preferably E.coli) or microbial physiology.
• Experience generating recombinant proteins from E.coli. Is a must.
• Excellent track record of original research as well as hands-on
experience with state-of-the art molecular biological techniques.
• Experience from a biotech/pharmaceutical R&D setting taking a
therapeutic protein all the way from early expression in E.coli to handing
over to CMC setting is considered an advantage.
Personal Qualifications
• Flexible, open to new ideas, ambitious, innovative; result oriented
and have a good sense of humor.
• You have authority and thrive in an environment with individual
responsibility and a high degree of personal impact in the projects but at
the same time you are good at collaborating in teams.
• Good at communicating, able to meet deadlines and keep an overview.
Education
Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics or related discipline
with additional postdoctoral
training or similar experience.
Language Abilities
Fluent in spoken and written English.

The position compensation will be attractive and negotiable to the right
candidate, comprising of a very competitive base salary supplemented by a
