BASIC PURPOSE:
A computer aided manufacturing engineer position in a world’s leading
oilfield service company located in Houston.
Development, implementation and maintenance of the NC Programming (using Pro
/NC from PTC), CLDATE Post-Processing (using CAMPOST, from ICAM) and machine
simulation (using VERICUT from CGTECH) systems to support five
manufacturing facilities in US, China and Italy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Using Pro/E NC to develop and maintain NC models structures of
machining parts
2. Using CAMPOST skills to develop and maintain the post-processors for
processing Pro/E NC CL-DATA to the machine codes for the variety of CNC
machines (e.g.5 axis milling or mill-turn machines).
3. Using VERICUT to verify the tapes from the post-processors or CL-DATA
from Pro/E.
4. Working closely with technical supports (from software, CNC machine
providers, and consultants) on development and maintenance of the above
three applications.
5. Troubleshoot any issues related to the three applications.
6. Train NC programmers to use the above three applications.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Working in the department of Engineering, located in Houston, Texas. This
position reports to a Technology Manager. Has a wide variety of contacts
with Engineering staff in Houston, Texas; manufacturing staff in five
manufacturing facilities in US, China and Italy; external software providers
and consultants.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Fresh Ph.D, or MS or BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial
Technology, or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 (for MS) or 5 (
for BS) years’ experience in NC Programming (PRO/E NC preferred) and/or CL-
DATA post-processing (CAMPOST preferred). Understanding of 5-axis CNC
machines (e.g. Mori-Seiki NT4300, TORYODA 630, DMU 100 P) and the control
systems (e.g. FUNUC 15M, Heidenhain 530i and SIEMENS 840C) most desirable.
Must be able to communicate in English on technical and social issues
effectively to the peoples of different levels and backgrounds (e.g. machine
operators, programmers, engineers, consultants, CAM software and machine
tool supports…). VERICUT, PRO/E, CAMPOST, EdgeCAM, FeatureCAM, skills and/
or experience desirable.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Good working conditions with frequent exposure to undesirable elements.
Moderate to heavy mental effort or sustained and very tiring visual
attention to work details, accuracy, and time pressures.
