A Fortune 500 company (100K+ people) is looking for a full-time Material
Scientist or Analytical Chemist. The location is in San Jose, CA.

This is a Material Scientist or Analytical Chemist position working in a
chemical / materials science laboratory. Emphasis will be on the
qualification and characterization of materials, and identification and
measurement of micro-level contaminants. Candidate will execute projects on
new drive materials and will participate in program teams and engineering
projects. Candidate will contribute to drive or drive component failure
investigations involving micro-contamination analysis, SEM and cross-
sectioning. Job duties will also include the development of new or improved
analytical methods, and report preparation and presentation.
Qualifications:
• Master plus 2 years experience or new PhD in Chemistry, Materials
Science or related fields is required.
• Hands-on experience in gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-
MS), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), SEM and metallurgical cross sectioning is
preferred.
• Must be a strong team player who is self-motivated, possesses
effective written and oral communication skills, attention to detail (or
detail oriented) and has a sense of urgency to get a task completed.
• Must be able to work in a clean laboratory environment for race
contaminant analysis), use safe and clean lab practices and work in a
collaborative environment.
• Requires proficiency in lab and office data-processing tools. |
