office portfolio management team in trading operations.
Some requirements include:
a. Undergrad or higher degree in computer science
b. Some work experience (2+ yrs) preferred but not necessarily in finance
c. Hard working and strong desire to succeed with the team
d. Motivated self-learner; scrappy and ready to roll up sleeves
e. Strong troubleshooting ability; good attention to detail
f. Interest in software engineering , trading system development and
maintenance
g. Very solid Java and SQL experiences are must; practical knowledge of
scripting language (perl, python)
Some of the responsibilities include:
a. Data acquisition, cleaning, storage and integrity check (including
vendor contacts)
b. Alpha signal monitoring
c. Real-time execution system support
d. EOD booking and reconciliation
e. Strategy backtest
The candidate will eventually come to understand a vast interlinked system
that has grown organically and has complex dependencies. However, this is a
strictly operations role (i.e. NOT quant research).
