Job Description:
1. Focus on driving excellence in technical support for the NGS data
processing and Sequencing technology platform improvement
2. Provide consultancy and achieve technical excellence within the
department.
3. Coordinate with the IT department for bioinformatics training
4. Lead case study analysis for the NGS projects and escalate
bioinformatics issues to global support and R&D
5. Develop bioinformatics solutions, standard operating procedures,
documentation, software/web tools and databases to assist customer in
solving technical barriers
6. Communicate with the commercial teams to provide new service proposals
and promotions; investigate key technologies to boost the service
performance;
7. Be responsible for building, training and leading a team of research
and development.
Qualifications:
1. PhD in the biological sciences or Master degree with at least 2 years
of NGS data analysis experience (Computational molecular biology or
population genomics preferred);
2. Knowledgeable in the field of Next Generation Sequencing and familiar
with both Roche 454 and Ion Torrent systems.
3. Excellent understanding of genomic databases and their annotations (
GenBank, RefSeq, ENSEMBL, dbSNP).
4. Proactively participating in collaborative projects.
5. Having a keen sense of responsibility, self-motivation, good
communication and teamwork skill.
6. Good English reading and writing skills and good verbal English
communication skills are preferred.
