The appointee will oversee the day-to-day operations of an R&D project,
involving researchers from HKUST and MIT as well as industry partners, on
developing a next-generation personalized e-learning platform. Main duties
include acting as the software architect for the platform; supervising
project team members in developing different subsystems; managing the
project according to the approved schedule; coordinating with MIT
collaborators to ensure smooth integration of different software components
and traveling to MIT for project meetings; and interacting with industry
partners to collect user requirements, conduct pilot testing, and facilitate
technology transfer.
Applicants should have at least a master’s degree in computer science or
related disciplines with at least 5 years of industrial experience,
preferably in a R&D environment, which includes project management
experience for at least 2 years. Familiarity with industrial-strength
software development; strong interpersonal and communication skills and a
good command of written and spoken English are required. Prior experience
in patent application is an advantage.
We provide an excellent working environment which allows researchers from
HKUST and MIT to interact with industry partners for technology transfer and
commercialization. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)
