Applications are now being accepted for research fellowship positions in the
Hematology Research Program at Boston University Medical Center.
Successful candidates have the opportunity to work on promising projects
focusing on the development of novel agents that can be employed to induce
fetal hemoglobin gene expression as potential therapeutics for Sickle Cell
Anemia and Leukemia.
The successful candidate will have access to several groups of Principal
Investigators whose work is focused on
developmental stage-specific gene silencing or reprogramming in
hematopoietic stem cells and progenitors using iPSC models and a variety of
erythroid cell lines and primary erythroid precursors, and who are
interested in the genetic basis of fetal hemoglobin gene expression and its
pharmacologic modulation.
Opportunities to mentor undergraduate, graduate and junior postdoctoral
researchers will be offered. Career guidance and individualized mentoring
plans are available to the applicant.
Required Skills
Techniques include but are not restricted to: cell culture, flow cytometric
analysis, chromatin
immunoprecipitation assay, lentivirus infection, real time qPCR, gene
editing technologies and other usual molecular and cellular biological
techniques.
A publication record in English language peer-reviewed journals is also
required along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Starting salary will be commensurate with experience （$50,000~$53,000.
