具体原理是眼睛里的视色素被过度漂白了，需要一定的时间恢复。这段时间里视网膜产
生的信号反映到脑子里就是微弱的反相信号。就像直接盯着太阳看一会，闭上眼睛，眼
睛里有个太阳形状的暗斑。
Our visual system is most sensitive when the photopigments have not absorbed
any light for about 30 minutes. Under these conditions we say that the
photopigments are fully regenerated. When the rod photopigments are exposed
to light they undergo a process called bleaching. It is called bleaching
because the photopigment color actually become almost transparent. In the
dark when they regenerate and regain their pigmentation again.

Adaptation
We need a period of time before our eye can adapt to new light conditions
and see properly. This is called Adaptation.
1. Dark Adaptation
When we move from a lit room to a dark room, we cannot see clearly, because:
not enough stimulated rhodopsin:
rhodopsin is bleached faster than it is reformed in strong light,
insufficient rhodopsin reformed instantaneously
cones are not stimulated:
light intensity too low (remember threshold intensity?)
It takes about 20 minutes for enough rhodopsin to reform for us to see
properly.
2. Light Adaptation
When we move from a dark room to a brightly lit room, we feel uncomfortable
from the glare. But after some time, the visual threshold in cones increases
relative to the generator potential. Cones is less stimulated, and we will
see better. This takes about 5 minutes. |
