He doesn't talk about it, but on 4 June every year, he goes to his local bar
after work, raises a glass of Scotch, and toasts in Mandarin. He follows it
up with English, "to democracy!"
The bar, not knowing who he is, cheers anyway. "TO DEMOCRACY!" Why? Because
this is America, and when someone raises that toast, you toast back. USA USA
USA.
