probably heard the phrase "Birds of a feather flock together", and that's
true when it comes to romance. On any demension that psychologists have
measured in these kinds of studies, when people are more similar, they are
more likely to find each other attractive. This could be obivous things,
like height, age, or food, but it also could be things like attitudes toward
capital punishment, preference for the sports. All of these are dimensions
of similarity. One condition on that - All things being equal. So opposites
don't really attract each other.
Usually at this point, somebody would raises their hand and says my partner
and I are complete opposites. How do you account for that, Ms Cuisine? I
usually look at them and I say "Good luck". ^_~ And of course all things
might not be equal. There may be other variables at play, but all things
being equal, similarity does not breed contempt. Similarity breeds
attraction. Isn't it interesting that we have all of these common sayings
that contradict each other, and then empirically, some of them turn out to
have more evidence supporting them than others. "Opposites attract?" not
much evidence. "Similarity breeds contempt?" not much evidence. "Birds of a
feather flock together?" Yes indeed, there's some evidence for that anyway. |

发帖数: 3640 | 17 中庸一下：不绝对~~~我觉得只要性格宽容就容易走得长远。两个性格相似的人也许都
比较小气，不愿意为对方付出；一个人性子急另一个人性子慢，可能也不和谐。愿意包
容对方的缺点就不会不和了，倒不一定是说脾气好，也许是对方吸引你的地方远远盖过
了其让你不爽的地方，让你愿意去改变去磨合。
p.s. Birds of a feather flock together是很有道理的，但严格一点说，Ms Cuisine
所提的基本属性（身高体重年龄）和兴趣爱好（食物体育价值观）都不算性格范畴。。

了。
互补也要分，是互相冲突，还是互相补充。如果care自己多一点，那冲突就多一点。 |
