(N>3) years before getting the J.D. degree. Otherwise, it would have been
quite unique an example.
For big firms, one would be extremely lucky to make partners (equity or not)
in 7 years. Of course, then there are the equity partners who make 300K/
year, and the equity partners who make 3 million/year.
Anyway, age certainly has an effect, the magnitude of which depends on what
you practice. If you are doing litigation,

If you want to practise IP law and have obtained the graduate degree in some
related field, age doesn't matter anymore. As a matter of fact, it's
preferable for you to have more experience.

But I still did not get it why age does not matter in IP law. Would it be a

for lots of sci/tech students
law school is like second/third marriage:
you did get married early enough
but you are not happy with it
you want to divorce and re-marry
is it too late to re-marry sb you really love?
as long as it's sb you REALLY love
it's never too late
if you entered law shcool during early 30's
yes, you are definitely late compared to those early 20's
(this is horizontal comparison)
but remember, you are in your second marriage
this comparison is unfair

what you do is less important than what you are
sb decide to be happy with whoever they met first
and stick with him/her for the rest of the life
sb change anyway no matter what they have
even if dragon girl were his highschool sweetheart
he'll end up divorcing her and turn to sb else
"show me a sexy girl in town
and I'll find someone who's tired of f*cking her"
law school? so what?
one day you'll be tired of f*cking her

k****a 发帖数: 309 | 22 actually I agree with your second sentence
but not the first
your previous career can definitely help your current one
but if you are not dissatisfied with the previous one
why did you change?
a break-up happens when sb is not satisfied
either you or your ex
so the only alternative to the previous question
is that your previous career dumped you, right?
which is not likely
nobody goes to law school because s/he is loser
