international JD students at all. Because their business is focused on
their local market, which rarely requires any international or technical
background, and local people don't perceive a foreinger well. If you want
to find a job in t state, it WILL be hard. |

to know, don't law firms basicly use academic performance as yardstick for
recruiting (or giving the chance to interview)? If, I mean if, I can get to
the top 10% of the class, will I stand a chance of landing a job in the loca
l market?
Hypothetically,if you mean local law firms would rather recruit my american
classmates with worse grades than hire me with better grades, it is really w
orth reconsidering the decision.

the rank of school you go to;
your grades;
how well you would fit in, including your personality and communication
skills.
The first 2 will decide whether you will get an on-site interview or not.
Once you get in the door, nothing but the 3rd matters. When I intervew
potential candidates, I don't even look at his/her grades since they've met
the threshold. What we care about is whether I would feel comfortable
working with the can |

c*******i 发帖数: 951 | 7 Other than maybe top t20, all other schools are "local schools." If you go
to a local school, be prepared that you may only be able to get a job in
that local market.
Are you prepared to live in "T" state after graduation? If not, stay in CA.
At least a local school in CA gives you access to a big market (CA). |
