the 20 credits need to come from approved law school. It doesn't have to be
a part of LLM program. Likewise, an "LLM" from an unaproved school will not
satisfy the requirement. There are also special programs (approved) in NY
that are tailored for ppl in your situation. You will get a certificate for
the 20 credits and be able to take the NY bar afterwards.
