本人专业背景较曲折。国内本科读机械设计制造,硕士读计算机辅助设计与制造(CAD/
CAM),美国Univ of Maryland 混得PHD in Mechanical Engineering,专业方向仍是 CAD
/CAM. 注:至此我自认是半个computer science 出身了,因为研究方向都是搞
computer algorithm什么的,相比之下我的机械背景早已是半瓶子醋了。况美国所谓的
typical ME 专业在国内是划在力学系专业的,与我本科专业也已是隔行隔山。
再来,PHD毕业后在一家CAD/CAM软件公司(也算业内巨头罢)做software engineer 近
5年。之后不甘心只做工程师,先后在两家小型公司做Project Manager,仍是软件开发
相关的。两年多没再写过code. 如今刚被laid off。。。
请大家参谋参谋吧? 我觉得Project Manager的工作其实太辛苦,有职没权,还要负责

suitability of doing IP law. As you can see, I do have a degree in an area
other than what i am actually doing. For traditional ME, I am don't feel

the last downturn.
however, your question is still dubious.
If the question is wrt your technical expertise, then there shouldn't be any
concern. When I was in the industry, the patent attorneys we worked with
never really fully understood the all the of points. Most often, they just
follow your invention disclosure. As to infringement analysis, they were
even more dependent on us. If you check the resumes of most paten
