Beijing XXX Intellectual Property Agency, Ltd. is one of Beijing's top 10 IP
law firms. The firm prefers new graduates with some background/knowledge in
IP. Some knowledge of Chinese language is important. The position would be
for approximately 6 months.
Compensation: 50 RMB per day for lunch and transportation. |

50RMB for IP attorneys... |
j*******g 发帖数: 188 | 4 I think a lot of folks wouldn't mind doing an unpaid intern at a judge's
chamber, or a DA's office, or at SEC etc. Because you can learn something
from it, and having these experiences on your resume will impress future
employee in a way.
But working at an obscure IP's agency at China? (yes, it's not even called
as a law firm) How much can you expect to learn from working there? Do they
really need someone with a JD? |
j*******g 发帖数: 188 | 5 My point is if you don't mind dong an unpaid job while gaining some useful
experiences, you certainly can find much better options than working at an
obscure China IP firm.
Yes, an unpaid intern at US IP firm might worth it, but in a domestic China
IP firm? Not so much. |
j*******g 发帖数: 188 | 6 No difference for those unpaid jobs? Seriously?
At least, you are going to practice US IP law at a US law firm. Are you
going to practice US IP law at a China IP law firm? |

X***P 发帖数: 3230 | 11 Calm down. My point is there is no big difference between an unpaid job at a
small US IP firm and one at a China IP firm. Both won't lead you to
something big.
However, if one does not really have a better option, I don't think such a
posting is an insult to GULC students. GULC is a decent school, but it
mostly matters at 2L OCI. After that, nobody really cares.
Re your question, I do think it is a paid job if I don't have a real one.
50RMB /day for food and transportation is that bad? Maybe I h

Not an insult? Really? You know this is a job at a law firm, not some non-
profit organizations. And based on the language requirement, this is
specifically targeted for Chinese JD students.
A paid job? Really? Wait until you find out how much the receptionist makes
a couple of times than you, or what the hell, the cleaning lady or the
security guy probably makes more than 50 RMB a day. No offense to those jobs
, but do you need a JD from

X***P 发帖数: 3230 | 13 Difference on what? a better career prospect for working at a small US IP
firm? Really? If you are referring to something on your resume, working
experience at a small US IP firm is really more prestigious than that at a

small US IP firm? Aren't they both dealing with USPTO? I really don't think
there is any big difference between these two in terms of work.
Work experience at a non-profit organization only matters when you

z***e 发帖数: 1757 | 15 I think similar postings have been there a while back, but aimed at summer
interns, not new graduates. I could be wrong. Anyway, more information on
jobs is always better than no information. In this economy, getting one's
feet into the door is much more important than compensation, especially for
someone who has no other better alternatives. Given a chance, those with
good credentials and work ethics will ultimately shine sooner or later.
