发帖数: 329 | 1 bio 背景，美国 top 50 大学 master，目前有bio-research 工作，已经2年，估计一
年后有卡。另外还有一些媒体工作经验。年龄快30。
读JD的心是打定了的，也不需要take loan，虽然经济上会比较累。
现在的问题是：
1. 一个20-25 的school，地点一般，要和家人long distance，花12w 左右3年，辞职
读full time
2. 一个比较烂。。（boston 的suffork，据说在local还行）但在local 还行。估计只
要花3-4w 左右，读4年part time，不需要辞职也不用和家人分开，还能买房逗娃啥的。
大家觉得哪个选择更好些？
目前的想法是做patent，但没必要限制死。也不一定非要大所，中型也ok，目标薪水是
毕业后不低于8w。
就是不知道2年工作经验+ top 20-25 一般location JD，和 5-6年工作经验 + local
好location 烂校 JD，是不是critical的区别？

Part time.
Full time in your situation is too risky and will probably not worth the
personal and financial expenses (personal opinion).
It could be more challenging for a bio master (assuming ur master is in bio
field) to pursue a career in patent law. Therefore research experience could
be important.
To ur last question: the 'critical' difference is probably that u will end
up working local if u go part time, and will have more opportunity national
wide if go full time. I' ve seen many local 3rd tire graduater becomes
partners in local mid-sized firms. As long as ur current local area is Not
too bad for ur career and long term living, I don't see a problem.
Plus, ur aim salary is very easy to get even without a law degree in patent
field. |
