T but not a full year.

different answer:
(1) you can apply for and use half a year OPT after your PhD;
(2) since JD is not a higher degree than PhD, you can not renew your OPT. So
you have half a year OPT left after you get your JD. |

U of ABC campus 1 OIS 的人告诉我: JD在他们那儿被认为是master level的degree,
所以用了phd的OPT就不能再申请了. |

发帖数: 71 | 6 I think you are not likely to have another year of OPT.
(1)For your PhD degree, you have the 1-year OPT, you can use it or waste
it. You cannot use 6 months and save 6 months for another degree later.
(2)If you get into a higher degree program, you can have another 12-mont
h OPT but it depends on whether JD is a higher degree than PhD. I guess not
.
This is just based on my understanding. Ask your ISSO.

我以前master用了OPT，念JD再申请OPT没有问题。我有朋友在另一学校也是同样情况。 |
