The Chinese system is like no other known to man, now or in history. By
analysing the leadership of Xi Jinping, the meaning of 'socialist market
economy', corruption, the party-state apparatus, the reach of the party, the
mechanisms of repression, taxation and public services, and state-society
relations, this book explains how the system works and where it may be
moving.
Drawing on Chinese and international sources, on extensive collaboration
with Chinese scholars, and on the political science of state analysis, the
author concludes that under the new leadership of Xi Jinping, the system of
government has been transformed into a new regime radically harder and more
ideological than the legacy of Deng Xiaoping. China is less strong
economically and more dictatorial politically than the world has wanted to
believe.
Stein Ringen, a Norwegian political scientist, is emeritus professor at
Green Templeton College, University of Oxford, where he from 1990 held the
chair in sociology and social policy, and an affiliate of St. Antony's
College, Oxford.

... The regime's policies may generate resentment and protest, but the CCP
still enjoys a surprisingly high level of popular support. Nor is the party
is not cut off from the people it governs. It consults with a wide range of
specialists, stakeholders, and members of the general public in a selective
yet extensive manner. Further, it tolerates and even encourages a growing
and diverse civil society, even while restricting access to it. Today, the
majority of Chinese people see the regime as increasingly democratic even
though it does not allow political competition and its leaders are not
accountable to the electorate. In short, while the Chinese people may prefer
change, they prefer that it occurs within the existing political framework.
In reaching this conclusion, Dickson draws upon original public opinion
surveys, interviews, and published materials to explain why there is so much
popular support for the regime.

一个是牛津教授，一个是牛津大学出版社出版。牛津是不是反中国啊。反正西方对中国
大都是这个口径。

要独100倍； 现在的习也要手下绝对忠诚自己。 看看，人家就不搞什么树牌坊的表面
工作，也就是海外党还要即要什么又要什么之类的。
好听一些的， 是把独裁叫做威权，新家坡是所谓开明威权， 可见威权也不一定是坏事
，但关键是要开明， 因为威权政体做事是有效率的，做好事高效，做坏事也高效。 摊
上一个开明有眼光的领导人，皆大欢喜；摊上一个王八蛋，大家全跟着倒霉，死得更快。
对于习，左看右看，是不是王八蛋不知道，但肯定不是开明的。 |

发帖数: 139 | 16 官方的英文不好是人所共知的了，西方比较统一的认知是中国是authoritarian，所谓
的中央集权，另外有点党内的民主讨论机制，consultative authoritarian。
现在还说dictatorship就有点扯，这么写书的都是噱头赚人眼球。dictatorship首先得
有个dictator，以前有毛，现在有谁？两届十年干完走人的dictator的人生还真是失败。

dictatorship中的一种。dictator可以指个人，也可以指一个政治团体。宪法的翻译是
没什么问题的。特别是“专政”这个词，对应动词dictate。

propaganda 在冷战以后基本成了专制政权洗脑部门的代名词，臭名昭著

学界都是正面的术语，但在新闻媒体宣传都等同于希特勒的邪恶法西斯主义。这是两码
事。

欧美人大部分对外国政治不感兴趣，感兴趣的人的知识来源就是这些破烂，就好象普通
中国人只会看于丹讲论语而不是自己去读论语。但这些读过这些书的人的观感和选票决
定了政府的政策方向。

是问题不大的，因为宪法不是娱乐作品，是历史文献。
