2: I didn't do anything in particular, just went to the thinkAdvantage,
chose to recover and waited... after about 2 minutes, it popped up a window
that says "%s failed to recover the system".
I googled, and http://www.beezmo.com/ThinkPadT61.htm says that I should have made a "recover copy" right after I received the machine, but, damn, long story short, I don't have a magic recover cd.
So what can I do??? |

No yah.
But it refuses to restore. Always gives me an error message. "%s failed to
recover your system". :(
Do I have to have a recovery cd/dvd?

why do you want to recover anyway?
windows is very stable now and you don't need to reinstall for at least 3
or 5 years.

My wife complained about not being able to use the ubuntu 8.1 I had on T61,
so I thought about switching it back (to vista). Oh well. :(

it is free....
and vbox supports win7 already!
