发帖数: 557 | 4 It should be very easy, just boot off the ubuntu CD. Burn a CD if you don't
have one yet. It'll give you the option to repartition. You can delete C
at that point.
You don't have to wipe out the vista partition. Just use ubuntu to shrink
the C drive. |

It is definitely doable if you don't want to use CD. See this. Just choose
iso instead of option 1 (to download from ubuntu.com).

发帖数: 434 | 20 能。详细解释如下：laptop一枚(non mac)，原来分为C盘系统盘，D盘数据盘。原来C里安装的vista。
后来用wubi安装了ubuntu到D盘。但是ubuntu安装好，wubi那个文件是在C盘，而ubuntu
那个文件夹是在D盘。安装时选择ubuntu的安装盘时选择了D盘。D盘大，除了够放
ubuntu，还够放别的数据。

That is NOT wubi. Wubi is wubi, separate from ubuntu.
You may be able to do it again. This time choose to install to C, or just
delete C and repartition. But be careful your machine might not boot since
your virtual CDROM is from vista. Do it if you have a backup plan.

发帖数: 44 | 33 俺试过wubi，但是wubi那个文件ubuntu和文件夹都是在D盘。没试过删掉wubi之后
ubuntu是否work，但是俺觉得应该work吧。可以先在vista下试试move or rename wubi
之后是否可以正常reboot to ubuntu. Just to be sure.
If ubuntu works without the wubi files as I thought it would, 俺的建议:
1. 在vista下把ubuntu设置成default - wait 0 seconds (autodetect without
prompt).
2. reboot to ubuntu.
3. format vista drive to ext3 (or just delete everything under the drive if
you don't mind using ntfs).
这样应该就万事大吉了。format vista drive不会改变在vista下写好的MBR，所以你连
安装设置grub都可以省了。

running that unetbootin exe, so this
step can be done on my little 128MB USB.
2) i reboot my laptop using that little 128MB USB, and then installed a pure
command-line ubuntu 9.04 on my
laptop.
Now i'm trying to make it look human....

Last question: since you already started a new install, why not just put in
your 9.04 CD and reinstall the whole distribution on your reformatted
partition? That would be a lot faster than sudo apt-get install a lot of
things one by one.

them.
I can only spreak for fedora, but i guess it should work on the same basics.
1) mount iso to a directory
2) change your repo (i.e., in default apt-get will search online database,
change is to your local repo dir)

Step 1. Mount your portable hdd.
Step 2. Copy CD contents over to the former vista partition using the
commands:
sudo mkdir /distro
sudo chmod `whoami`:`whoami`
cp MYLINUX.iso /distro/distro.iso
Replace the name of the iso to whatever you downloaded.
Step 3. Edit your grub configuration file (I think /boot/grub/menu.lst) to
boot from the new partition by adding the lines
title installer
root (hd0,0)
kernel /distro/vmlinuz
initrd
