should I go right ahead and buy a house about 2-3 times my salary or rent
for a few months first?

seems like you found a job here in midwest? congrates. i'd suggest you rent
a while. at least until after you settle in at work and like the hospital.
The first few months can give you an idea whether to stay long term. Not
just you, but your family's need had to be taken into consideration.
Housing wise, it appears to me that in the small towns, RE price really hasn
't change much and not going to fluctuate widely. You can certainly start
searching and get to know more about the local ma

in my experience, i think the family's need had to be taken into
consideration. Of course, your job's compensation, working condition are
important. But as physician, they are all generally similar in the same
specialty within a certain geographic area (after you establish yourself).
By then, your family's need becomes the top priority. I was alone at the
beginning, and went wherethever paid me the most, hehe. but pretty soon i
got really bored. after the first 200k, money become less signi

I take your advices very seriously. I have to say money was my number one
concern. now, i will add location and the whole package into consideration.
one place is about 90mins away from chicago. i kind of like it. thanks |
