。 我们家遭了水殃，什么都要重新build 和repair。我总是抱怀疑态度对这个年轻的
小伙子，换成大家，大家会怎么做呢？我准备去看下他给其他人做的project，但又不
知道如果他给的reference是他自己认识的人呢？我该如何找contractor呢？我要修墙

If so , then you should ask for insurances(Workers compensation, Liability )
& bonds info etc.(You can verify all those information on your state
license board website.)
Experiences is definitely a key point for a competent contractor.(You should
doublt about "说什么他都可以做".)
At least,you should at least get three detailed estimate reports from three
different contractors before you make a final choice.
