Got a call from my friend （老邻居）
“Power off; sum pump is not working; basement water level is going up. Need
help.”
We can’t do anything without power.
5:30 PM:
I called back to my friend.
Ask, “How about backup pump?” A: “It is not working”.
I ask “What is the problem, battery or pump? A: “I don’t know.”
I said， “I will be there”.
6:00 PM:
拿着万用表，手电筒，冻饺子，propane 火锅炉，开车到朋友家。
Basement 水将过地面。一查， 电池没电，换了个电池，backup pump 开始工作。
留下我的手机，带走朋友pump的电池和手机回家充电。（家无座机）

经过我的计算,sump pump里1",大概要dump 100 gallon的样子.
非常悲惨.不堪回首.

万一停电非常悲惨.不堪回首.损失就不是几个generator的价钱了。买generator 要买
个大功率的，至少5000瓦，（大约500块）这样冰箱，微波炉都可以用。不停电，有可
能几年都用不着，就当买保险。心里踏实。

installed. It will kick in when you lose the grid power just like nothing
happened.
Natural gas version is better if you can, if you do not have natural gas at
home, diesel version is better than none.

in case.
As the old saying goes, "shits don't happen alone" (Huo bu dan xing). When
the basement got flooded, chances are outage will also come. So, make sure
your back-up sump pump is battery-powered, and the battery lasts. If you
have a generator, install it on a higher ground or a shelf.

garage. Do NOT operate generator in your basement.

generator automatic start with a starter by 12V battery.

,要维护的.
所以也不好说,不过最近这个天气实在太.....断电成了习惯了.

发帖数: 3318 | 20 对，那东西也得换机油 ,要维护的.但主要是平时别装汽油。汽油时间长了会吸收空气
的水分，所以到用的时候不工作。要加新汽油。

除了sump pump外,可能通电的就是电话和internet.
算了一下,大概2000瓦应该就够了.
