该以提高收入为先，不要急着买房子。买了房子，就不能轻易搬迁，因为一买一卖代价
太大。这样往往错过去其他城市找到更好工作的机会。说不好听的话，好比自己给自己
画地为牢。
所谓多少有点骗人的“美国梦”，前提是更高的收入，却从来不公开提起。
所以，要用中国古人霍去病的名言勉励自己，“匈奴未灭，何以家为”。 最低标准也
该是，夫妻两个不挣20万，还是不要买房子了。 |

。不过等你有了小孩想法就跟这里的人一样了。神马都是浮云，家庭生活是最重要的。

家，是一种内涵，生活形态则是家的外在表现。
美国购房，主要还是看自己生活形态的需要，并非“家”内涵的需要。
美国购房主要从经济角度、社区生活角度和儿童教育角度考虑，量入为出，不是什么难
事。
什么20万才购房，这种说法完全把家、生活形态和经济收入混淆，实为不可。 |

, it is an investment.
I bought my first apartment just 3 years out of undergrad at 25 years of age
. It was a 1-br in a high-rise. I was financially very tight for the first
year but managed to pay off the mortgage in 3 years, I then sold the
apartment for a very nice profit. Using the moeny, I bought 2 apartments,
one of them is a luxry rental in Shanghai and another is a 2bed rm apartment
in NJ for myself to live. The rental income from the apartment in Shanghai
helps with my savings and I just sold it for a huge profit 5 years later.
I recently bought a new house mostly with the money from the Shanghai
apartment and have now converted my other apartment in NJ for rental. It
provides a very good monthly income.
With houseing needs not only taken care of but also providing a stable
source income, I can afford to make better career moves without worrying too
much about the pay. Just need to do things I am intersted in. |

in the past 5 years, my apt in NJ has not done well, while the investment in
shanghai easily tripled. its impossible to time the market, so just do what
you think it is right.
