发帖数: 14763 | 10 My town has a 80% "open space rule", that is, if you got a deep pocket, you
can get a large chunk from the town, say 200 acres' worth. And you can only
develop up to 20% of that, the rest must be kept as is.
And the catch is the burden of maintenance of the 80% is on the HOA, and you
can't donate it back to the town :)
In this way, the town got rid of a large wetland it can barely keep up with;
the builder got business going on (no more free lots in this town); and the
new comers got a roof over their heads :)
