Will have home inspection tomorrow. But we were told the seller choose to
pay $500 instead of fill out discloure questionaire. The house is about $
600K, is that common practice or really fishy.
Please give us some suggestions!!! First time home buyer. Thanks so much

500刀对于600k来说是小钱。如果此房有mold等问题,通过装修是可以掩盖的,而且普
通inspector 查不出来,将来问题越来越大,到了非处理不可的时候估计得花10倍以上
的钱去修,而且严重影响resell value。总之一句话,世上没有免费的午餐。

我也是这个问题,agent的原话是
This is a common course of action for sellers. The law requires either the
disclosures are filled out or the seller pays $500 to the buyer at the
closing. They are choosing to pay the $500.

你那里不错了.还有$500
马里兰这里,seller 选择 disclosure or disclaimer
disclaimer就是签个字,说自己什么都不知道.......
绝大多数seller都是disclaimer.......

Update :
Just called several realtor attnery about this issue.
In New York State, since the houses are really old, 60 years house is pretty
decent, 100 years you can still see on the market, so no seller will fill
out the discolure questionaire. That's common practice in NY state. Except
for new house, the seller might fill it.
Just for NY house buyers. So home inspection is extremely important.
