这是lender给的options:
Option 1. Float – you do not have to lock in until you are 2 weeks from
closing. Until you lock in, you are subject to rate changes at any time.
Option 2. Up to 6 month rate lock (“Extended Rate Lock”) – For every 30
days over the standard rate lock period, there is a .375 point charge. (
Loan amount x .375% = fee for a 90 day rate lock, for example). We can do
this for up to 6 months (so max fee = 1.5% of sales price). We may also be
able to give you a higher rate and cover the fee for you that way.
另外, lender说有30 fix interest rate 3.375%, 还有10年fix之后20年ARM(或者可
以refinance)的前10年利率只有2.75%。如果不确定10年以后是否要因为工作原因搬家
,是否后者比较划算呢?

close.
What program you choose will base on your own case. for exmaple, if you are
not planning to stay in the same house for more than 10 years, if you want
to get more cash flow every month after closing, you definitely will choose
the ARM program, not FIXED.
However, if you will stay here and no any future plan to sell the house or
move out in the near future. you should consider the fixed program.
The ARM and Fixed rate are historical low still.
