I suspect you can spread grass seeds directly over the mulch, and cover with
a thin layer of top soil, although I've never done it myself. if that does
not work, rent a tiler or cultivator and mix the mulch with soil.
the best season to reseed in the fall.

另外top soil里面用的是compost，不是直接的mulch
还有，如果mulch里面撒了top soil，到时要返工的话成本大增。

还是把大块的mulch扒掉，细末儿直接混topsoil，再撒种。 |

I understand mulch and compost are used for different purposes. but over
time, the lower layers of mulch are going to become compost anyways, that's
why people have to add new mulch after 1 or 2 years. I think mccoy's
suggestion sounds better, taking out the large wood chips, but leave the
decomposed portion and mix with top soil. that should give seeds more
nutrients and loose soil to grow roots.
but again, I've never done it, or plan to do it, so, better ask a gardener
for advice.

发帖数: 20252 | 15 mulch就是木头碎片而已，根本没烂过，直接埋到地里要很久很久很久才会烂掉，而且
刚开始烂的阶段是吸收养分的。landscape的mulch个头很大，阻碍草扎根。mulch
底下通常还有塑料布，得扯掉。
用很多mulch一点点土的话，水一冲就露出来了，到时候变瘌痢头草地。
整地只能长草前弄，草长出来后没法大规模整地，连轧平都做不到。

有一些黑色的mulch会decomposed的很快。我家的flower bed在塑料布以上有3-4 in厚
的红色mulch，大概两年之后就都decompose成黑泥了。我去年还在mulch里面种番茄，
长得还不错。
mulch抑制杂草生长主要是靠遮挡阳光，所以一般需要铺2-3in厚度才能有效防止杂草，
如果草籽在表层的话，mulch并不会有什么抑制作用。
这几点到是实实在在的问题。garden fabric是需要事先除掉，但我觉得mulch可以跟
top soil混，然后用tiler跟下面的soil打在一块。大块的木屑还是得扒出来，否则地
面会比较软。
