Spam and the more benign forms of social engineering (obtaining demographics
and buying habits) are not illegal. What is
illegal is the knowing distribution of malicious software, and phishing (the
theft of personal identity, credit, and banking
information). Don’t just delete criminal spam; demand its investigation.
