LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A USC student was killed in a two-vehicle crash in
South Los Angeles Sunday, authorities said.
Xinhai Huang, 22, was killed in a traffic collision at Hyde Park and West
boulevards around 2:55 a.m.
According to authorities, the victim was riding passenger in a Ford Mustang
when a Ford Explorer, traveling westbound on Hyde, ran a red light and
collided with the vehicle. The impact caused the Mustang to collide into a
light pole.
Huang and the the driver of the Mustang she was traveling in were
transported to UCLA Westwood Medical Center where Huang was later pronounced
dead. The driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as a female in her early
20s, was also treated.
The electrical engineering major was an honor student who was on the
university's dean's list.
No other information regarding the crash has been released. The
investigation is ongoing. | z*********n
