这是San Gabriel山脉穿越的最后一站。
起点为manker flat, 乘缆车到baldy notch，从此经由Thunder peak, Telegraph peak
, Timber peak (3T)到达著名的icehouse saddle, 然后在登上cucamonga peak,再从
icehouse canyon下山。
路线全长8英里左右，累计爬升3600英尺左右。其中icehouse canyon最后两英里有小溪
和浓荫.
集合时间周六。6月29号上午8点
集合地点: 34.138929,-117.707047

pifu出事還沒學到？ 這個沒走過路線， XC，而且可能會有class3， 應該往上走. 而
且天氣這麼熱， 出發時間應該提早.

someone maybe class 3 already to general audience, everybody's comfort zone
is different. But i can tell you that for sure, Matthew Holliman is a
incredible hiker/climber, you should NOT depend on his info for classifying
route for people on this board.

另外，8点集合可能有些晚，setup shuttle后到ski lift，大概需要一个小时，等上到
baldy notch开始爬，差不多要到9点半了。到cucamonga peak大概有7迈左右，快的话
大概也得1点左右登顶，下山正是气温高的时段。不过即使提前，也难以避开高温的时
段。

发帖数: 2672 | 9 每年的storm都會改變環境，不要忘記這個是2004的TR， 根據最新2010 TR， 有一段
class3. 不管有沒有class3也不能相信這個Matthew Holliman. Matthew跟Bob
Burd還有Rick Kent都不是一般人， 他們三個dayhiked Black Kaweah， 一般人至少兩
到三日時間.

而且Mattew是個climber， class 2-3對他來說就是走平路一樣.

the winter with the snow, in the summer it is a lot more tougher with brush,
climbing and heat. Do not underestimate the heat this weekend, there's a
warning in effect from Fri to Sun.
I suggest you do this in the snow, a lot of routes in Socal are a lot
tougher in the summer.

发帖数: 503 | 12 南面有两条山脊可以选择，你打算走的是deer canyon东面的山脊，deer canyon西面的
山脊也可以走，不知他们走的哪边。两条路都是沿山脊一直走到cucamonga truk trail
上再转到deer canyon下山。
deer canyon和cucamonga truk trail交汇的地方地图上标有一个spring，不知道现在
还有水没有，希望到时可以有所帮助。

这一片的山石石头都很松，
别小看class3，没攀岩基础，选错了手点脚点可能造成无可挽回的错误
另外off road有poison oak问题， 我回头发一下最近走的一次溪降，
最后一段class3 scramble,比爬5.9以上感觉都危险
你会有松的脚点，毒藤，落石 三重危险，如果再加上高温脱水。
别以为可以见机行事，到了半山坡有时候是退不回去的

不过，谨慎就是对了。

发帖数: 2672 | 18 There are at least 3 routes here to ascent the Cucamonga Peak from the south
side with with Etiwanda Ridge (3) being easiest and most often used. The
route follows the Cucamunga Peak Trail north from the Joe Elliot campground,
but it is not maintained and overgrown and washed out in some spots.
1) Deer Canyon to Cucamonga Peak
As far as I know, only Rick Graham is only one has done this in the summer
but i can't seem to find the report anymore. All other TR are done in
winter with snow.

Lookout就發現這種天氣走這路線不現實, 最後很以休閒的速度， 2:30pm走到Baldy然
後下山. 一路上都討論走哪條路線可以最快下到山喝到凍可樂.
最快上Baldy記錄是1:05:02. 昨天上Baldy既然用了9個半小時. 不知道最長時候上
Baldy記錄是多長？ 個人記錄，最長時間上禿頭山：
1） 鐵人山到禿頭山
5am - 9pm, 16 hours
2) Baldy via Big Horn Ridge
5 am to 5 pm, 12 hours
3) Lookout Ridge
5 am to 2:30 pm, 9 1/2 hours |
