ends up costing more money.
if you do it by yourself, you have to clean once a week, measure and adjust
once a week.
testing kit is about $20-$50 for half a year. chemicals from leslie or
costco or amazon, it will be $150-$250 3 months to 6 months depends on brand
and quality.
you also need one time investment for nest, floating chlorine capsule, some
stuff. total cost is about $100-$200. bottom vacuum is about $150-$200 which
is a must.
Overall, you will spend about $50 a month if you do it on your own. but you
need spend about one hour a week. sometimes, two hours a week.
you also need clean the filter every half a year. sometime you need pay $100
-$150 to clean them or you can negotiate this service into your contract.
if you mess up, that is the problem, you will spend about $100-$300 to bring
a green pool back to clear.
Change your pump to variable speed pump, it will save you a lot for utility.
depends on weather, water bill will be additional $20-$50. electric bill
