To be more specific, software development/application support at Mathworks
vs powertrain development at GM. I finished my PhD 2 years ago in ME; I am
quite good at programming (and OS, data structure and algorithms) too as a
non-CS major.
If it were two years ago, I would choose GM for sure. But after working in
the traditional industry for 2 years, I felt a little disappoint |

Simulink has some applications in ME.

but for IT related, you always have to keep yourself up with the new trend/
techniques..
it is a personal choice. good luck to you!

If in a support role, I would go GM.
