I am from Thermal/fluid background (took some undergraduate Solid Mechanics
and Mechanics and Dynamics in China). I am wondering what are most popular
English textbooks on solid mechanics (undergraduate level). I would like to
expand my skill set in this area. I already have a few FEA books, which are
not very useful to build up engineering sense. Searched JHQ and previous
posts and found no records.

if your university has access to springer online, most probably you can
freely download many e-books on any subjects.
they have many mechanics-related books.

I use these two:
(1) Y.C. Fung & Pin Tong
Classical and computational solid mechanics
This book is easy to read.
(2)Issam Doghri
Mechanics of Deformable solids
Both of them can be used for FEA.
