Two research assistantships are available for PhD students in the Integrated
BioMicroFluidis Laboratory http://faculty.cua.edu/luox in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Catholic University of America (CUA), a private research university in downtown Washington DC. Research assistantships cover living expense and full tuition.
The first student will work on biofabrication in microfluidics for bacterial
chemotaxis and cell-cell signaling studies. The second student will work
on the establishment of model lipid bilayer of extraordinary stability in
microfluidics.
Students with a background in Biology or Biochemistry with the enthusiasm to
pursuing a higher degree in an interdisciplinary engineering setting are
