ME版 - bad job market in MEMS |

time. Only got two phone interviews in half a year. Where is the future of
MEMS? There are few job openings in MEMS, but there are more job openings in
semiconductor. But if I apply for the process engineer position in
semiconductor, I'm over qualified. Very, very sad. Is there anyone working in
MEMS field got job recently? Can you share some experience in job hunting? | mr

semms hot in University if you dont mind being post-doc.well, I need to hunt
job later, still not sure which way is better in mems.

I'm working on Optical MEMS. The job market is almost dead in optical MEMS. I
try to find jobs in semiconductor processing or MEMS processing. Bio-mems is
hot in university. But not many job openings in industry.

Believe me, I have tried to look for jobs in optics. Even worse than mems. Few
job openings in optics, and most of the jobs require U.S.citizen. Two of my
phone interviews are from MEMS field because I have almost ten years
experience in clean room (not working experience). But I failed.
I'm realy frustrated. I even consider getting another degree.

发帖数: 107 | 8 how is lithography area? I also searched many openings in this area. Did you
make the mems device using LIGA tech or semiconducor process? And why just
stick to the industry.if you'd like to consider staying in the uiversity, you
neednot get another degree. If you graduate from a good univ, you may find a
faculty postion easier( you may need switch to bio-mems or nano). By the way,
many people get the faculty positions in nano area as I know.
