it is a bioadhesive/mucoadhesive polymer usually used in the oral drug
formulation to enhance the residence time in the gastrointestinal tract.
it is polyacrylic acid polymer loosely croslinked with good water adsorption.

solution is still like water. i heard using some caustic can make it gelly. bu
can it survive salty environment (in vivo)?
