Swallowing gold can break the stomach and cause bleeding inside. It is the
same as swallowing glass. Glass is sharp and gold is heavy. Most heavy metal
ions are toxic but not the metal itself. I guess it is a very painful way to
die by swallowing gold. More important, it is a shame for a chemist to die
that way. There are millions of ways you can kill yourself easier and more
peacefully.
