$2000 add every year.
since there are many levels for postdocs,
I would not be surprised about the median salary of $38,000,
for me, a second-year one, higher than that.

protects ppl who got phd in US. all postdoc I knew in our school got higher
salary than 38K. hehe.
The highest I heard is in physics: 48K.

$38K in Califonia or Boston is really not a big deal.
One student in our lab went to MIT, only got $32K, he had to apply for a
fellowship to live there with his wife, daughter, and a big shepherd.

FT...here the min. is 31K ,doesn't matter where did u get your PHD...and
living expense is really high...and that's what i got before tax...i am even
making less money than when i was a gruadate student....

neiborhood is good and rent is really cheap...

Obviously MIT's labor is cheaper than CIT.
