与Geothe大街相邻的是Prinze大街，因1786-1791年英王
George II在此居住而得名，Gottingen大学的老图书馆就
在这条街上，这座图书馆是近代欧洲图书馆的典范，据说还
收藏有一部刻在树叶上的《圣经》，在Prinze大街和Papen-
dieck大街的十字路口边上有一个小院，里面一座楼是Gott-
ingen大学历史文献中心，院子里面一座正坐在石凳上沉思
的塑像是Gottingen大学的数学和物理学家Lichtenberg
（1742-1799），在Prinze大街与Gotmar大街相交的另一头
是Lichtenberg的故居，1837年Gottingen大学建校100周年
庆典时，博物学家和旅行家von Humboldt曾在这座房子的阳
台上演说，其中他说：“在著名的Gottingen大学，我受到了
最尊贵的教育”
