I spent the Valentine's day and new year day on two interviews, here is the
experience of the first one, University of Iowa.
Interview day: 8:00am to 5:00pm
# interviewees: 6
# of interviewers: 5
Accommodation provided? Yes, one night free staying at Sheraton downtown, a
very good one.
Positions: 4
A very good dinner at program director's house with a lot of faculties and
current fellows. The jumble shrimps and nice steak were very impressive, and
the house is a dream l | yf

Iowa city is a small college town. The weather is cold. But the public
school system is very good, a good place for children. Music and art
education are very good.
There are chinese grocery stores there. But chinese restaurants are not good
. Japanese ones are very nice though. 3.5 hours' drive to Chicargo.
Living expense is low, almost all the fellows and many of the residents own
their houses. A lot of resources in the university(sports, gym, swimming,
skating, kids' programs, etc) | w********e
