enough recommendation letters. It is not showing off to ask this question. I
hope you can give me some suggestions.
I read shoemaker's post about letter of recommendation. My issue is,
1) I did 4 years of postdoc in a basic science lab and had one nice paper
published.
2) I started to work for 1.5 years in a clinic as a clinical research
coordinator after that.
3) When I left the lab, I sort of made my postdoc PI angry, |

for your designated dean’s office to attach these documents to your
electronic application. This can be done prior to applying to programs and
your documents arriving at your designated dean’s office. As soon as you
submit your LoR(s) request, your designated dean’s office will receive an
update that allows them to scan your LoR(s) and make them available to
programs when you apply. You may create an unlimited number of L |

asked for a favorable letter. It is not good to cut her out and leave a
blank.
You could write something like this:
I have done good work for you...
You are the best mentor....
But based on our prior communications, you have negative impression on me...
Although I have concerns.....
I would like to ask for a letter from you if you can recommend me favorably.
...
I would like to read the letter before you send it.....

发帖数: 151 | 4 Thanks DrNewbie. I asked her yesterday. No replies yet, hehe. I think I
dare not ask her how to write the letter. That is her right.
I think I will pass her letter, if she does not reply. That is fine. Just
feel a little sad. She used to reply email in a second and I know she is in
town. Worked hard for her for 3 years...Just want her to be fair. But I have
no right to ask other people what they should do:-) Move on. Need to work
hard to ask for other letters. |

just let her know you really want to be a doctor and ask her if she feels
comfortable to write you a strong letter.

发帖数: 2295 | 8 just my 2 cents. I would schedule a (tele) meeting with the PI instead of writting
E-mails..we misunderstand people easily with e-mails...everyone is allowed
to make mistakes and wrong decisions. it's good to talk with your PI even u
don't need the LOR, and personally i don't think u have to use the letter
from her..i think your current boss and the people who know your clinic ability/personality is more important.

There is no requirement for LoR from each previous employment or training
program.
Most programs only need 3 LoRs. Use the letters from people who know you
well and you feel comfortable with. |

发帖数: 151 | 12 给一些医院的program的director或者chief写信询问有没有CRC的位置。一般估计要求
绿卡，因为职位级别较低，一般不会sponsor签证。多去尝试一下。我当时是随便投了
很多信，然后有了一个回音。 |

wouldn't and couldn't say in the letter that you had depression. That
diagnosis can only be made by your doctor and it is kept as patient's
private information. In this regard, I won't say anything NEGATIVE about
you. I just won't show enthusiasm, simply say who you are and when you
worked with me and what you did. Such a letter without enthusiasm usually
say a lot.
So NO, if it is not necessary, don't use her l |

发帖数: 151 | 14 谢谢。我的postdoc advisor最后还是给我写了信，我还是感谢她的。不过确实，她应
该不会热情洋溢写很多的。她一贯实事求是。如果不用她的信，似乎我四年的博后就没
有什么reference了。这样好吗？我发了一篇尚可的文章。
还有一位文章共同通讯作者，和我一起做的工作，Ph.D, assistant professor,愿意给
我写信，不知道是否用她的信就够了。
还是干脆就不要博后阶段的信了，只用后面工作中能够找到的信？虽然工作时间只有1
年半。也不是研究性质的工作。那些信中我猜测多少都会提起我前面做了一个很好的
postdoc训练（现任老板如此介绍我给同事），如果一封postdoc期间都没有的信，似乎
很奇怪？ |
