和交通问题。
大家都遍布全国，我不熟悉的地方，你可能了如指掌。有没有兴趣一起讨论下program
的住宿交通问题？ |

发帖数: 1334 | 2 Hotel: most programs can make some recommendations. Try to pick up the one
that closes to the program and is located at a safe area.
If by air: at many places you have to rely on taxi for local transportation.
Plan to arrive the program location at least a half hour earlier. You may
contact a taxi company the night before, or ask a hotel personnel to get a
taxi for you.
If by car: bring a good GPS and enough cash. I paid a lot tolls last year. |

发帖数: 1334 | 4 Program recommended hotels usually have a decent and safe surrounding. Some
of them also offer residency interview discount. Several programs paid for
our accommodations last year.
For a large city, ask friends in that area. Most places should be fine, if
you don't walk down the street in midnight. |

It save a lot, But prepare to pay hotel if time and distance be considered

我感兴趣的到是附近有什么地方可以面完顺便玩一下呢。

发帖数: 176 | 9 住宿还好，交通问题确实比较头痛。
我的第一个面试是我的hometown program。一个中部的小城市。中午的lunch在program
的conference room，lunch完了interview就结束了。那天lunch时和住院大夫，
faculty和PD聊得挺欢，但1点钟一到，所有住院医生，faculty和PD们相继离开，个忙
各的去了。我们几个candidates中有两个要回hotel或去机场，但想我们这种中部小城
市，学校附近public transportation非常差，不提前预约也基本上叫不上taxi。我看
他们很为难的样子，只好自告奋勇开车送他们去机场和hotel了（同一方向）。
所以说去之前要多做些功课，能租车是最方便的，不能租车可以跟PC打听一下
transportation的问题。
另外，感觉program都是welcome的时候很热情，farewell的时候很不得赶紧打发走算了

发帖数: 810 | 12 嗯，我也在想面完再住一晚，顺便玩一下，毕竟机票不便宜，如果面试地是旅游区，真
是应该小游一下，就算没match上也没白跑一趟了。
