Full-time attending positions for BP/BC EM residency trained physicians to
work in our Emergency Department (ED) starting immediately. The Flushing
Hospital Medical Center is a 350-bed teaching hospital. The ED is a 911 EMS
receiving facility, a state-designated Stroke Center and Hypothermia Center
for post cardiac arrest. It sees approximately 50,000 visits each year and
has a separate Pediatric and Adult ED. It is located in the most culturally
diverse neighborhood in New York City, perhaps the country. This is an
excellent opportunity for career-minded individuals who enjoy working in an
academic setting.
Our institution has several residency-training programs that rotate through
the ED as part of their curriculums. Teaching of house-staff is a
requirement of anyone seeking to apply for a position. Clinical research and
publications are strongly encouraged, if desired. Our department is very
much involved in community outreach and the study of health care disparities
, particularly within the Asian community. For individuals interested in
international emergency medicine or disaster preparedness there are
opportunities for collaboration with our emergency physicians engaged in
such activities.
