procedures will be changed next year. For this year, someone composed these
tips (including information from ECFMG):
The Scramble is just around the corner and it can be a hectic, stressful day
! Applicants can use ERAS to re-apply to 15 programs and to apply to 30 new
programs. Organization and advance planning are keys to matching: plot a
course of action in advance to ensure that you have a stress-free,
successful day.
If you have any outstanding fees with AAMC ERAS or with ECFMG, you must make
the necessary payment(s) to clear these outstanding balances; otherwise,
you will be prohibited from participating in the Scramble.
If you wish to participate in the Scramble only, you must obtain an ERAS
Token; register at MyERAS; register with NRMP; and apply to at least one
program. We strongly urge you to apply to a program at least two weeks prior
to the Scramble.
The NRMP prepares the list of unfilled programs by specialty to help
unmatched applicants identify unfilled positions. The list is posted on the
NRMP R3 System at noon eastern time on Tuesday of Match Week so unmatched
applicants can participate in the "Scramble." Only registered users of NRMP'
s R3 system are entitled to have access to this information.
The Scramble starts on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 12:00 noon, Eastern Time
in the United States, when the list of programs with unfilled positions is
posted on the NRMP website, and ends on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 12:00
noon, Eastern Time in the United States. Once the list has been posted, you
may apply to any program with an unfilled position. You will not have access
to the list of unfilled programs if you did not register with the Match;
refer to the NRMP website for its policies. The Match Agreement prohibits
applicants from sharing NRMP List of Unfilled Programs with individuals who
did not register with the Match.
During the Scramble, you can use ERAS to apply to a maximum of 45 programs
at no cost. This includes programs to which you had applied previously
during the regular ERAS application season that appear on the list of
unfilled positions. Effective for the 2011 Scramble, there will be a limit
on the number of applications you can submit on a given day. You will not be
able to carry over any unused applications to the next day. The limits for
submitting applications using ERAS for the 2011 Scramble are:
Tuesday, March 15 (12:00 p.m. - 11:59 p.m.) – you may apply or reapply to a
total of 30 programs
Wednesday, March 16 (12:00 a.m. - 11:59 p.m.) – you may apply or reapply to
a total of 10 programs
Thursday, March 17 (12:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) – you may apply or reapply to
a total of 5 programs
All times listed are Eastern Time in the United States.
You will be able to apply to any combination of new programs and programs to
which you applied previously during the regular ERAS application season,
provided you do not exceed the daily application limits listed above.
If you reapply to programs, you cannot retransmit or make any changes to
your application; if you need to make changes to document assignments, you
must do so before reapplying.
Get help. Have a family member or friend help you login to and print NRMP's
open program list on the day of the Scramble. It's a high traffic day, and
you may have difficulty accessing the sites; the more people who are
helping you log in to the site, the better your chances of success!
After you login to your NRMP list, check to see if any of the programs you'
ve already applied to are still open. If there are any, apply immediately
via ERAS. Have an email already typed up and ready to send before the day
of the Scramble specifically to programs you have interviewed at or applied
to.
Make sure that you only apply to programs you qualify for. The Scramble is
competitive: don't waste time and applications on programs that won't
consider accepting you. If you don't have a visa, don't apply for a program
that won't sponsor you!

Will research professor be helpful if he agrees to make phone calls for me? | e*****a
发帖数: 1334 | 5 Yes, it's better than nothing. If he or she is famous or has connections,
that will be very helpful. Some medical schools will arrange faculty calls
for their students.

However, if you get a preliminary or an advanced position, you can't
scramble for a categorical spot.
