我今天看ECFMG网站上写：
You must hold a Standard ECFMG Certificate without expired examination dates
, if applicable, before entering an ACGME-accredited residency program.
这个without expired examination dates是什么意思呢？
难道是我进入一个住院医生项目的那个时候，即使我PhD期间考掉step3, 我的前两部分
的成绩都必须是7年之内的么？那我2010年10月考的，2011年毕业，如果PhD读六年，就
是2017年毕业，万一毕业推迟，或者因为博士最后一年很忙，无法申请match在2017年
进program，非要耽误一年，岂不是就全废了？
求解答。万分感谢。 |

are you sure? 如果是真的，这对我真是不好的消息。请问你是哪里的消息来源啊？
我的理解是只要在七年内完成所有考试就可以得到ECFMG的certificate，然后这个
certificate是不过期的。这个理解不对咯？

Yes, Yes, that's what I am talking about. I really hope that's true.
I phoned ECFMG today, but they want me to check FSMB because "every state
has its own policy".
But I still got confused.

发帖数: 937 | 8 No, I don't remember where I read it. Please call ECFMG/FSMB to make sure.
However, whatever happened can't be changed. The fact that you are done with
step 1 can't be changed. Would suggest you to match as early as possible,
especially if you need visa as I do.

no 7 y limitation once you passed all 3 steps, BUT except California which does have a 10 year expiration policy on 3 steps' score., and another state too (sorry i forgot the name?)
The 7 year limit applies to the time to pass 3 steps exam only for most states.
bottom line is, everyone wanna match ASAP......so, should be fine for most of us.

Thanks for replying my post.
Please correct me if my understanding is wrong:
Once I passed step1 and step2, I can get a ECFMG certificate. If, Before I
matched, I passed step3 in the 7 year limit, the eligibility for my matching
will be permanent for most states.
Am I right?

Dear:
The time limit means you need to pass the USMLE exams from the first to the
last within that time frame. It does not have to do with how long after
passing all of the exams you apply for licensure. Your exam scores do not
expire.
