Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency
TrainingProgram at the MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. Unfortunately, we
are unableto extend to you an invitation to interview with our program.
Though we hadover 3,600 applicants, the faculty tried to review each
application. Duringthe screening process, we all came to realize that the
process of evaluatingapplications is an inexact science, and that there were
many outstandingcandidates whom we did not invite.
I am absolutely certain many of thoseapplicants who were not invited will
become notable future clinicians andscientists, and perhaps you will be
among them. I hope that you will succeed in reaching your long-term career
goals. I also hope that you will prove that our decision today was wrong,
and that you willaccomplish and even exceed the lofty aspirations that were
