发帖数: 428 | 1 上上周在daisy组织的Webinar听到Emma讲我们CMG在内科等临床科室的PD眼里到底是什
么样子，很有感触。PD考虑candidate的优先次序大致是：
1. Top US medical school graduates
2. Non-top US medical school graduates
3. US citizen/resident IMG
4. Non-US citizen/resident IMG
我们CMG在第四类中，起码还排在老印后面。可见现实是非常残酷的。但正因为如此，
我们更不能自我麻醉或逃避，只有认清自己的实际处境，才可能做出相应的反击。处在
最末端的CMG，要吸引到PD的attention是十分困难的。除了我们尽力提高自己package
的质量之外，多位前辈都提到一定要“主动出击”，决不能坐以待毙。这是我最近一段
时间听下来最深的体会。 |

发帖数: 65 | 2 5000 more AMGs are coming to the system. You know who is going to be bumped
on the list. Improve your whole package as much as possible. Apply for as
many programs as possible. Some applied for 300 last year. Do as long
extern as possible. Get the best LORs. Pick up the phone and dial!
Practice mock interviews. Practice small talks. Learn how to tell what the
PD likes and how to get the talks back to your strengths and interests.

发帖数: 82 | 5 不是妄自菲薄。CMG的能力是有目共睹的。多数靠得是吃苦耐劳。打的是苦情牌。大部
分老CMG的临床能力还真不被看好。
我只是实话实说。

发帖数: 82 | 6 EMMA是做了多年临床护士，她的临床能力，老CMG没几个人能比.
大部分老CMG有强的科研背景。但MATCH是比临床的。

Now I understand why long YOG is not welcome by most programs.

，说他们program历年所有CMG的能力都比同届的AMG要强，除了搞关系比不过。但是
program就是愿意招AMG，不管面试的CMG或者其它IMG多优秀，最后在ROL上的IMG总是最
低，也就是只有当所有AMG都不去那个program,IMG才有机会。
也许这只是个别的program，但是对于咱们CMG来说，比AMG优秀并不能说就一定能match
上。

7500 total spots for non-citizen IMGs. 5000 AMGs will reduce it to 2500.
70% drop. This does not take into consideration of the expansion of
carribean schools.
CMG match rate: 60 out of 300. 20%, another drop of 70%. 5%.
Pretty much you will need to be top 5% to get lucky in 4-5 years time frame.
If you are reading this, you are not studying. Your chance just decreased
another 1%

发帖数: 1220 | 14 most of the time it all depends on PDs' personal tastes, most favor AMGs,
some prefer candidates of certain geography, some may prefer pretty or
handsome gal/guys (LOL)....
so match is a whole-package thing. |

所以无论环境怎样， 自己的预备是主动也是成功关键所在。 |
